REGULATION

IMPORTANT

It will be the sole and exclusive responsibility of each participant of Spanish CUP competition to read the FEDME regulations and sign up for the correct distance in relation to their age.

It will be the sole and exclusive responsibility of each participant who competes outside of Spanish CUP to take into account the following information when choosing the distance.

  • 1. The distances named as "CADETE" and "JUVENIL" are exclusively for the ages indicated in our regulation.
    • CADETE category: from 15 to 16 years old, that is, who do not turn 17 years of age in the reference year.
    • JUVENIL category: from 17 to 18 years old, who do not turn 19 years of age in the reference year.
  • 2. From the age of 18, completed before or on the date of the race, you can sign up for Trampantojo, Rompepiernas or Destroyer as long as you sign the "disclaimer of liability" document.
  • 3. If you have reached the age of 17 before the date of the race or the day of the race, you can sign up for Juvenile and Trampantojo as long as you present your parents' authorization and the "disclaimer of responsibilities" signed by a parent.

ALL PARTICIPANTS

  • 1. Must sign the "disclaimer of liability" document for any distance
  • 2. Carefully read the options available on the platform when choosing between CUP and non-CUP and, then, between federated via FEDME or another federation and not federated. If the federated registration has been paid and you are not federated, the corresponding difference will be charged when picking up the number (dorsal). Without said payment, the number cannot be collected and there will be no refund.

The organization will not have any responsibility for the misunderstanding or mistakes made at the time of registration.

VIII EDICIÓN - RESURECTION

1.0 PRESENTATION.

1.1 Information about the Race. The VIII Sierra Blanca Mountain Race will be held on February 11, 2023. It will start in Marbella at 8:00 a.m. from the Monseñor Rodrigo Bocanegra square (area known as "el Pirulí"), and will run through the municipalities of Marbella, Ojén and Monda, province of Málaga and will finish with a finish line in Parque Vigil de Quiñones, Marbella. The race is authorized by the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME) and will take place on three routes with 5 different distances:

  • “DESTROYER” 42,2 km and 2.870+ aprox., with a high degree of difficulty. The maximum time to complete the race will be 10 hours.
  • “ROMPEPIERNAS” 28,5 km and 1.909+ aprox., with a high degree of difficulty. The maximum time to complete the race will be 9 hours.
  • “TRAMPANTOJO” 15,7 km and 963+ aprox., with a high degree of difficulty. The maximum time to complete the racer will be 6 hours and 30 minutes.
  • “JUVENIL” 13,12 km and 755+ aprox., with a high degree of difficulty. The maximum time to complete the race will be 4 hours and 30 minutes.
  • “CADETE” 9,29 km and 541+ aprox., with a high degree of difficulty. The maximum time to complete the race will be 3 hours and 30 minutes.

1.2 Number of participants.A participation limit of 400 runners has been established for “DESTROYER”, 400 runners for “ROMPEPIERNAS” and 400 runners for “TRAMPANTOJO”, with no limit for runners in the “JÚNIOR”, “JUVENILE” and “CADETE” categories.

2.0 CATEGORIES AND SUBCATEGORIES

The participants will be divided into the following categories and subcategories:

2.1 Male and Female Categories: Cadete, Juvenil, Júnior, Promesa y Absoluto.

  • "Cadete" category: from 15 to 16 years old, that is, who do not turn 17 in the reference year.
  • "Juvenil" category: from 17 to 18 years old, who do not turn 19 in the reference year.
  • "Júnior" category: from 19 to 20 years old, who do not turn 21 in the reference year.
  • "Promesa" category: from 21 to 23 years old, who do not turn 24 in the reference year.
  • "Absoluta" category: from 24 years of age in the reference year.

2.2 Male and Female Sub-categories: Senior, Veteran A, B and C, Local

  • Senior subcategory: from 24 to 39 years old, that is, who do not turn 40 in the reference year.
  • Veteran A subcategory: from 40 to 49 years old, who do not turn 50 in the reference year.
  • Veteran B subcategory: from 50 years to 59 years, who do not turn 60 in the reference year.
  • Veteran subcategory C: from 60 years of age in the reference year.
  • Local subcategory: registered in Marbella and registered as local.

2.3 Age The age to be taken into consideration will be that of the participant on December 31 of the year of the competition. Athletes who have not reached the age of majority (18) on the day of the race must present parental authorization to pick up the number.

3.0 DISTANCES

3.1 Distances of the races. In this edition, the competition will have five independent races, over the approximate distances of 42.2 km, 28.5 km, 15.7 km, 13.12 km, and 9.29 km approximately.

3.2 Information for COPA Fedme participants

  • For the “Absoluta” category: “DESTROYER” 42,2 km
  • For the “Promesa” category : “ROMPEPIERNAS” 28,5 km
  • For the “Junior” category: “TRAMPANTOJO” 15,7 km
  • For the “JUVENIL” category 13,12 km
  • For the “CADETE” category 9,29 km

4.0 ENTRIES.

4.1 The registration period. The registration period will end on February 4th, 2023.

4.2 Platform. Registrations will be processed through the SPORTMANIACS platform and will not be accepted after the deadline or once the quota of registered participants has been covered.

The Organization/ platform will contact the participant through the email that appears on their registration form.

4.3 Prices. Registration for the different races can only be done by completing the corresponding form on the Yomury website. The registration fee for the VIII CxM Sierra Blanca is as follows:

4.4 INSURANCE (Non-Federated) For NON-FEDERATED participants, the organization provides accident insurance for one day in their name for the day of the test, which is why the prices are increased by 5 euros.

4.5 Rights. The registration in the CxM Sierra Blanca race gives the right to:

  • Participation in the race.
  • Runner's bag with commemorative garments and gifts that the organization could obtain.
  • Civil liability and accident insurance.
  • Cloakroom-cloakroom at the finish line. You can leave your belongings during the collection of the number on the day of the test
  • Liquid and solid provisioning during the race and at the finish line.
  • Health care during the course and at the end of the test.
  • Transportation service to all runners who, by their own decision or the organization's decision, need it. You will have to travel by your own means to the extraction points.

  • Showers and changing rooms near the finish area (300m).

4.6 Return of registrations in case of request for cancellation or re-assignment.

  • 50% until December 31, 2022.
  • As of January 1, 2023, no refund will be made.
  • Regardless of the date, a 75% refund will be made upon presentation of a medical certificate for injury or COVID.
  • Transfer of numbers until December 31, 2022.
  • As of January 1, 2023, no transfer of numbers will be made.

4.7 Changes: Changes of distance: The runner who wishes may request the change of distance until January 15, 2023, as long as there are places available, after this period they will not be able to change the distance. As management fees, no amount will be refunded if you change to a shorter distance, and you must pay the difference if you change to a greater distance.

Any change made from January 1, for registration prior to this date, entails an increase of 5 euros like the rest of registrations.

5.0 NUMBERS.

5.1 About numbers. Each registered runner will be given a personal and non-transferable number. The number will be placed on the chest in a visible way, without bending or cutting, and will include the step control chip.

5.2 Documentation: It will be mandatory to present the following documentation in order to receive the number:

  • DNI/NIE/Passport
  • The signed disclaimer
  • Federation card (only federated in FAM or FEDME mountains)

5.3 Delegation of collection. Participants can delegate the collection of their number, provided they present an authorization signed by the registered person and a photocopy of the DNI/NIE/Passport, as well as an original or photocopy of the federative license in the case of federated participants. Likewise, the presentation of the documentation will be accepted, as well as the signed authorization, shown digitally.

5.4 Collection of numbers. Collection of numbers will take place at the Palacio de Congresos, Marbella.

Date and times:

Friday, 10/02/23. (Mandatory date for residents in Marbella).

From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for any distance, residents or not.

Saturday, 11/02/23.

From 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., “DESTROYER” runners

From 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., “ROMPEPIERNAS” runners

From 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., “TRAMPANTOJO”, “JUVENIL” and “CADETE” runners

5.5 Control. Prior to start of the race, the runners will have to pass a control point for verification of a number and chip before they enter the departure point.

6.0 MANDATORY AND RECOMMENDED MATERIAL

6.1 List of compulsory material All participants will be required to bring at least the following material:

  • Mountain shoes or minimalist shoes
  • Windbreaker jacket with hood and long sleeves in the size corresponding to the runner (only for “DESTROYER” and “ROMPEPIERNAS” modalities)
  • Thermal or survival blanket, (minimum 1.20 X 2.10)
  • Whistle
  • Container for water reserve, minimum 1/2 liter. In the distance "DESTROYER" will be a minimum of one liter.
  • Mobile phone turned on and with sufficient battery
  • Cap, visor or bandana
  • Pants or leggings, minimum below the knees (only for “DESTROYER” and “ROMPEPIERNAS” modalities)

6.2 Referees. The mandatory material will be required by the Referees at the number and chip control and in any part of the route. All runners will be obliged to submit to said control, under penalty of sanction or disqualification from the race.

6.3 Lack of compulsory material. Any runner who does not comply with these conditions once they are set by the Federation may be prevented from participating.

6.4 List of Recommended Material:

  • Gloves
  • GPS or Compass
  • Cup (the organization will not have cups available at the aid stations except the finish line)
  • Headlamp or flashlight with spare batteries (only for “DESTROYER” and “ROMPEPIERNAS” modes)
  • Red rear position light on at night (only for “DESTROYER” and “ROMPEPIERNAS” modes)

6.5 Use of portable music equipment during the race: For reasons of personal safety, it will not be possible to use any portable audio elements/equipment that blocks either of the two ears.

The organization declines all responsibility in case of accident or negligence of others, as well as for the loss or breakage of objects of each participant.

7.0 PARTICIPATION RULES.

7.1 Appearance. In order to participate in the race, all athletes will wear the correct number and the appropriate clothing and footwear for the race, as well as a mobile phone for use in an emergency.

7.2 Physical conditions. The physical conditions must also be those required for the distance and hardness of the itinerary, remembering that each of the races are of high difficulty

7.3 COVID. In the case of COVID, a mandatory mask and everything determined by the corresponding authorities will be required.

7.4 Changes without prior authorization. No change or transfer of number or chip is allowed without prior authorization from the organization. This circumstance, if it occurs, would be cause for disqualification and sanction.

7.5 Course. The route will be duly marked with marking tapes, signposts and/or arrows. It is mandatory to follow the marked itinerary, as well as to go through the established controls. Any runner who litters during the route, who cut across outside the marked itinerary or who does not go through all the established controls will be disqualified.

7.6 Vehicles and animals. The use of vehicles or being accompanied by animals during the race is not allowed.

7.7 FEDME Regulation. This test will be controlled by FEDME judges. For everything not contemplated in these regulations, the race will be governed by the FEDME Regulations.

8.0 DEPARTURES

8.1 Place of departure.

  • The race start for distances “DESTROYER”, “ROMPEPIERNAS”, “TRAMPANTOJO”, will be from Monseñor Rodrigo Bocanegra square (area known as “el Pirulí”)
  • The “JUVENIL” race will start from Xarblanca.
  • The “CADETE” race will start from Puerto Rico Bajo (Base of the tube).

8.2 Departure times. The initially scheduled departure times, reserving the right for the organization to allow for possible small variations, if health circumstances or other reasons force it, or due to the requirements of a possible television broadcast, and always with the prior approval of FEDME, are the following:

  • 08:00 - Departure of the “DESTROYER” race (FEDME Cup participants only)
    • 08:10 - Departure of the “DESTROYER” race (The rest of the participants)
  • 09:00 - Start of the “ROMPEPIERNAS” race (FEDME Cup participants only)
    • 09:10 - Start of the “ROMPEPIERNAS” race (The rest of the participants)
  • 10:00 - Start of the “TRAMPANTOJO” race (FEDME Cup participants only)
    • 10:10 - Start of the “TRAMPANTOJO” race (The rest of the participants)
  • 10:00 - Start of the “JUVENIL” race (FEDME Cup participants only)
    • 10:10 - Start of the “JUVENIL” race (The rest of the participants)
  • 10:00 - Start of the “CADETE” race (FEDME Cup participants only)
    • 10:10 - Start of the “CADETE” race (The rest of the participants)

8.3 Possible schedule changes. The organization reserves the right to vary these times, as well as the place of departure, if necessary, and in application of possible required COVID-19 protocols, giving sufficient advance notice through the race website and other means. suitable for it.

The start will take place respecting the protocols and sanitary measures that are in force at the time of the event, with special attention to the safety distance between participants, as well as the possible start by the runners every few seconds. In the latter case, the time of the participant in the race will correspond to the net time of the same after passing through the starting arch.

8.4 Disqualification. The stopwatch will start at the established time with or without the presence of the participants. Participants who show up after 15 minutes after start of the race will be disqualified. (The Race organizers may estimate a delay in the start of the test if it deems appropriate).

9.0. TIMING

It is mandatory to go through all the control points provided for this purpose, departure and arrival included. The test will have an approved timing system controlled by chips. There will be several timing controls.

10.0 CHECKPOINTS AND MAXIMUM CUT-OFF AND FINISH TIMES.

10.1 Checkpoints. Participants who exceed the times for passing through the control points indicated below must withdraw from the race since neither the organization nor the assistance services can guarantee their safety to complete the circuit.

10.6 "CADETE" (9,29 km approx)

  • Finish line: 13:30 FEDME CUP (13:40 the rest) 9 km approx., referee

10.7 “Escoba” car, withdrawals. The FEDME referee/responsible for each control point will also have the power to remove any runner from the race if their time in the race or their state of health so advises.

The runner who withdraws on his or her own initiative during the course of the race must notify the closest control so that the organization knows of his or her situation.

10.8 Responsibility In all cases, the arrival to the finish area will always be the responsibility of each athlete, except for accidents, serious injury or force majeure. However, the organization will have vehicles that will pick up the athletes who do not pass the cut-off time.

11.0 SECURITY.

11.1 Mobile Application. For security reasons, all runners must carry a mobile phone that will be used in case of emergency, withdrawal or rescue. In turn, you must have downloaded the mobile application 'SOS Emergencies', available in Play Store and Apple Store, to notify Marbella Civil Protection in these cases.

11.2 Communications. If you suffer from any illness that you think the organization should know about, in the event of an accident or medical attention, you must let us know at the time of registration in the comments section.

11.3 Departure and Arrival. The exit will be controlled by local police and organization personnel. Arrival . Once we hit asphalt, road traffic will be open, therefore, runners must respect the traffic regulations and circulate where indicated by the race signs.

12.0 GENERAL BEHAVIOUR OF THE RUNNERS AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

12.1 Disqualifications. The CxM Sierra Blanca is held with absolute respect for the environment. Participants who show violent, xenophobic or sexist attitudes, litter in nature or do not obey the instructions of the organization's staff will be disqualified from the competition.

12.2 Waste. It is the obligation of each runner to carry with them any waste they generate: packaging, paper, organic waste, etc., to the places indicated and enabled by the organization. Broken walking poles in competition may be delivered in a control.

12.3 Respect. Runners must behave sportily at all times and be respectful of other athletes and members of the organization. In addition, they must be careful with the facilities enabled for the race. Participants will be responsible for any damage they may cause as a result of this type of behavior.

12.4 Displacement. The runners will only be able to move in the race on foot, as a means of progression, and any type of help other than the physicists themselves and hiking poles is prohibited.

12.5 Medications. In case of having any medication prescribed, the participants will have to carry it with them throughout the race. The health services will not be held responsible for possible adverse or secondary effects. It is recommended NOT to self-medicate if it is not under medical prescription.

12.6 Provision of assistance to another participant. All runners have the duty to provide assistance to another participant who is in danger or injured, being obliged to notify the nearest control immediately. The deprivation of assistance will be penalized with immediate disqualification.

12.7 Withdrawal. A runner may withdraw from the test whenever he or she wishes, but must do so in accordance with the following points:

  • He/She will withdraw in a control and deliver the number.
  • The runner will assume all responsibility from the moment he/she voluntarily abandons the race.
  • The organization will facilitate the evacuation to the finish area of ​​the runners who have decided to leave at the time of the closing of the control in which they are.

12.8 External help: The accompaniment to the runner by another person, whether or not he/she is a runner, will be considered external help and will be penalized. In the same way, assistance and/or external supplies to the runner outside the areas set up for this purpose (race supplies) will also be considered as external aid.

12.9 Liability. Each runner will be responsible for any damage or injury that may be caused to himself/herself or to third parties, exonerating the organization from any responsibility in the event of an accident or injury due to causes beyond the organization of the event.

13.0 INCIDENTS DUE TO METEOROLOGICAL CAUSES.

13.1 Modification The Organization also reserves the right to modify the cut-off times, route, start time of the race, neutralize and even cancel it. Any modification will be duly notified. In such a case, under no circumstances, the registration fee will be refunded.

13.2 Cancellation The Organization reserves the right to cancel the race if there are objective risk situations that could endanger the safety and integrity of the participants (weather alerts, forest fires, landslides, etc.).

14.0 IMAGE RIGHTS.

The organization reserves the exclusive rights of the images, to take and collect photographs, video and information of the tests, in which all the participants are involved, as well as to use all this material for advertisements, public relations or any other journalistic purpose. or promotion of the event.

Any media or advertising project must have the prior consent of the organization, as well as the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME)

15.0 PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY

15.1 Delivery Process. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category and subcategory who reach the finish line. The Organization will inform sufficiently in advance of the possible additional classifications that are going to be awarded based on the possibilities of prizes that could be managed.

The prizes will not be cumulative except for the Local Subcategory runners.

Failure to attend the award ceremony will be understood as a waiver of the prizes won. Any delegation to another person must be known and authorized by the organization at least half an hour in advance.

15.2 Delivery schedule The awards ceremony will be held on the same day of the race, starting at 2:00 p.m. in the Parque Vigil de Quiñones, 20 meters from the finish line.

Approximate prize-giving times:

  • “JUVENIL”, “CADETE” and “TRAMPANTOJO”, starting at 2:00 p.m.
  • “ROMPEPIERNAS” and “DESTROYER”, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The categories that had not reached the finish line at the trophy delivery time will be awarded at the same finish line.

16.0. ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATION.

All participants, by registering, accept the conditions established in these regulations.

The test has been designated in this edition by the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME) as the 1st valid test for the SPANISH CUP OF ONLINE MOUNTAIN RACES, so it will be governed equally in accordance to the FEDME Mountain Racing Competition Regulations, approved by the Delegate Commission of said federation on March 28, 2020 and which is published on the website of the aforementioned Sports Federation https://fedme.es/
